Extension state and support spacing
Opening a telescoping trailer changes its length, unsupported span and load reactions. Keep each extension state tied to its dimensions and permitted support arrangement.
Use a state-specific reference
The closed overall length, open overall length and usable deck are separate concepts. Manac’s TOUGHWING reference describes 48–65 ft and 53–72 ft pairs, not one interchangeable range.

Read the open-state load conditions
Some charts require a rigid self-supporting load over a specified span. A gap between deck sections is not a continuous cargo floor.

Record the selected state explicitly
A closed reference and an extended reference must remain distinguishable in the URL, specification page and planning brief. The TOUGHWING documentation separates the 48-to-65-foot configuration from the 53-to-72-foot configuration. Those overall-length pairs do not establish a continuous usable floor, every intermediate lock position or the load capacity at each opening.

Ask how the load bridges the opening
Record which parts of the load are self-supporting and where blocking is permitted. Identify any support required at the extended portion and obtain the applicable manufacturer instructions. Keep the proposed support plan with the extension state so a later change in length cannot be mistaken for the same reviewed arrangement.
