GVWR, tare and payload
GVWR describes a gross rating for the trailer. Tare describes a particular empty configuration. Their difference does not override a deck, axle, tyre, connection or route limit.
Establish actual tare
Published base weight often excludes optional necks, extra axles, winches, boards and toolboxes. A scale record for the actual configuration is more useful for planning than a family estimate.

Keep every limit visible
A structural load chart and an axle rating should remain separate fields. Summing nominal axle capacities does not establish legal or structural payload.

Build an equipped-weight record
List the neck, axle equipment, ramps, winches, toolboxes and loose transport equipment that form the actual empty combination. Keep the scale record and its configuration date. A brochure base weight is useful for identifying a reference but cannot describe later additions, repairs or equipment carried on the deck.

Do not manufacture a payload field
Subtracting one brochure number from another only has meaning when both describe the same configuration and rating basis. Leave a derived payload unresolved if gross rating, equipped tare or chart applicability is missing. In the specification library, gross, tare, structural and concentrated ratings remain separate so the arithmetic does not hide a missing assumption.
